My name is Carlson Ng. I’m a photographer based in Tawau, Sabah.
For me, photography is more than craft — it is reflection, memory, and presence. I work across portraits, nature, and sacred spaces, always searching for images that reveal something deeper than what first meets the eye.
My background in philosophy and theology shapes how I see: every image is not only likeness, but also imagination, a glimpse into the imaginal. Through Imago, I hope to create photographs that are both artistic and contemplative — pictures that hold presence, meaning, and transformation.
Imago (Latin: “image, likeness”) is where my photography meets philosophy. The word carries many resonances — imago Dei (the image of God), the Jungian imago of transformation, and the artistry of image-making. It is also the root of imagine and related to the imaginal — the realm where vision and meaning take shape.
